Nebraska Social Studies Standards Feedback

As educators who interact with the social studies standards through the K-12 inquiry projects, you may want to look through the proposed new standards and provide your feedback.  Educators who interact with the standards could provide a different lens than non-educators who choose to respond.

A proposed draft of Nebraska’s Social Studies Standards was shared with the State Board of Education today.  The draft reflects a revision of the 2012 Nebraska Social Studies Standards and is located on the Social Studies Standards Revision Webpage.  Over the next several months, NDE will be collecting feedback and input on the proposed draft via survey.  The survey can be accessed here: Social Studies Standards Public Input Survey.  Please consider completing the survey and sharing with others who have an interest in social studies education.

If you have questions, please contact Dr. Cory Epler, NDE Academic Officer (cory.epler@nebraska.gov) or Harris Payne, Social Studies Education Specialist (harris.payne@nebraska.gov).

Elementary Technology Pacing Guides Feedback

As we are preparing for curriculum writing needs for the summer, one big question we have is if the elementary technology pacing guides are in need of a second draft.  As this was only the first year of their use, we guess that we will need to make some adjustments and changes.  Your feedback lets us know what those might be.  Be sure to make your voice heard as those voices will determine the direction the guides take.  We have only had 4 responses thus far.

If you teach any kind of technology, your input will be very valuable.  If you are able, please take a few moments and fill out the form above so we can determine if or how much revision is needed.  If you have any questions, let me know.  Thank you in advance for considering this request.
