WFS - Steps to Respect: Steps to Respect

Steps to Respect

A nonprofit working globally to promote children’s social and academic success

Staff Training

Every adult in our school plays an important role in addressing bullying and making our school an even safer place, more caring, and more respectful place for children. The Steps to Respect program establishes a partnership between students and adults. In the classroom lessons, we ask students to take some responsibility for the well-being of other students. We ask them to have the courage to reach out to isolated children and to report any bullying they see to adults.

However, children do not possess the power to solve the problems of exclusion and bullying alone. They need the guidance, encouragement, and effective actions of the adults that care for them. Omaha Public Schools has adopted the Steps to Respect program and Wilson Focus School is implementing this progam to promote a safe and secure learning envionment for all our children.
