Curriclum Prep Overview

Curriculum and Instruction Support Teaching & Learning Consultants led summer curriculum writing projects with teachers in all content areas to do the following:

  1. Focus on creating A+ OPS curriculum guides for all content areas that imbed blended learning for the incorporation of the use of the iPad and other technology devices.

  2. Focus on preparing A+ OPS curriculum guides with the flexibility to move from in-person teaching to remote learning.
  3. Provide options for teachers to adjust A+ OPS curriculum guides for the Family 3/2 model.  This part will outline what a  student will be doing when not attending in-person and how a teacher will support, provide feedback, and asynchronous options when a student in leaning from home.
  4. Update long-range unit planners and pacing guides and by focusing on standards-based essential questions and key topics, the curriculum writers preserved a guaranteed and viable curriculum. They identified focused topics for each week to support pacing in the non-traditional environment. Additionally, the long-range unit planners provide planning guidance as teachers develop lessons for both in-person/synchronous instruction and asynchronous learning activities to be completed by students on their non in-person days.

Review of scheduling options to decrease transitions during the day. All schools, exceptions of Central and South, will be on an A/B Block Schedule (4 periods a day with advisement embedded within one of the blocks).
