Fun with Fractured Fairytales WebQuest: Evaluation

Instructions

To learn about how to make this unit work for you, click "Teacher Resources" at the top of the page.

This will bring you to a wealth of information about other resources you may like to try.

Checking for Understanding

Students will use either StoryboardThat or ABCya's Storymaker to complete their final project.  It would be beneficialy for students to write draft 1 of their project on paper, using storyboarding graphic organizers if possible.  Some of these organizers can be found under the "Teacher Resources" page.

Use the attached rubric (below) to assess their writing.

Students will reflect upon their writing (see screenshot to the left), to also make new connections and understandings about their learning.  When they look at their work objectively, they can determine if they had done their best or if things needed to be updated.

Many of these resources came from the readwritethink.org page on fractured fairy tales.  See references on the "Home" tab.

Further Learning

If you are interested in furthering this unit or giving advanced students more things to work on, consider using some of the free tools and resources from the "Teacher Resource" page.

Also, good news; there are hundreds of fairy tale mentor texts to choose from.  So, expounding on the learning is always a possibility with a text that I have not listed.  Have fun!
