The Challenge!

The Marble Run Challenge

Your job is to invent a freestanding marble run

that will allow a marble to travel 24 inches.

(How many feet is that math wizards?)

  • This marble run will allow you to experiment with the science of physics and the effects of gravity.
  • The marble has potential energy that is stored up and ready to be released.
  • As the marble rolls downward, the potential energy turns into KINETIC energy (energy of motion).
  • You will discover the relationship between the height of a run and kinetic energy.*
